Hey guys, How do I install VMWare player for Linux? I have tried to manually install the software, downloading from wmware.com. I unzipped the .tar.gz, but what do I do next? I have tried to install it via Synaptic. This downloads the vmware-player-modules file, but it doesn't create the program. Any help would be great. Josh

If you are on Ubuntu Dapper, you can use "sudo apt-get install vmware-player". Craig

Do checkout the guide at ubuntuguide.org. It explains how to edit the apt sources config. Basically just 'un-hash' all the repositories in your /etc/apt/sources.list Do that and then: #sudoapt-get update #sudo apt-get install vmware-player Cheers, Sukrit.D.

I prefer the VMWare Server, since this allows me to create the machines as well and run multible machines at the same time. Felix On Wednesday 28 June 2006 11:25, Joshua Goodwin wrote:
