That's a good idea. Although volunteers weren't officially supposed to take any machines home, a few did. And a number of 'collectable' machines were put aside to be sold on trademe. I don't recall the indy being one of them though.

Don't really know what happened to that SGI box, think it went into the containers, and to whatever downstream processor is next after the collection point. Some very small amount of hardware that looked in good condition was harvested/triaged and diverted somewhere, I really don't know who was doing that. There is some information here: http://www.eday.org.nz/about-eday.asp#whathappens If more people from wlug wanted to get involved, we would have more influence about how the material is sorted at the collection point and further processed.
