kflickr wants http/ssl

Hi all, When I try to start kflickr from cmd line I get a msg HTTP request to Flickr.com failed. (msg: SSL is required). Am I missing a pkg? or is there another problem? System is x86-64 running Mageia5 TIA Barry

Hi Barry, I've never tried using kflickr, but I see it has a help forum... https://sourceforge.net/p/kflickr/discussion/490997/ ...I notice in the forum that the discussion: Connecting to flickr doesn't work at all<https://sourceforge.net/p/kflickr/discussion/490997/thread/de173b4b/> has a comment by TundraMan - 2005-11-25, who states... I see that the wiki for Konqueror<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konqueror> states... Konqueror has been developed as an autonomous web browser project. It uses KHTML as its browser engine, which is compliant with HTML and supports JavaScript, Java applets, CSS, SSL, and other relevant open standards. ...so maybe by using Konqueror then you will get the SSL dependency. However this is just my guess. All the best with your troubleshooting, Ian. ________________________________

Since kflickr doesn't seem to be maintained anymore(last release 4 years ago; https://sourceforge.net/projects/kflickr/), maybe you can use another client: https://www.linux.com/news/flickr-clients-linux Cheers, Peter -- Peter Reutemann Dept. of Computer Science University of Waikato, NZ +64 (7) 858-5174 http://www.cms.waikato.ac.nz/~fracpete/ http://www.data-mining.co.nz/
