Hi Barry,

I've never tried using kflickr, but I see it has a help forum...

https://sourceforge.net/p/kflickr/discussion/490997/

...I notice in the forum that the discussion: Connecting to flickr doesn't work at all has a comment by TundraMan - 2005-11-25, who states...

KFlickr must use a browser to perform the authentication steps required. When running full blown KDE the browser is Konqueror.

You stated...

> When I try to start kflickr from cmd line I get a msg
> HTTP request to Flickr.com failed. (msg: SSL is required).

I see that the wiki for Konqueror states...

Konqueror has been developed as an autonomous web browser project. It uses KHTML as its browser engine, which is compliant with HTML and supports JavaScript, Java applets, CSS, SSL, and other relevant open standards.

...so maybe by using Konqueror then you will get the SSL dependency. However this is just my guess.

All the best with your troubleshooting,
Ian.
