Linux + LDAP + Terminal Server

Hi Guys, i want create multiple profile on a single linux machine(server class) so that multiple users can access the it (GUI ) from their client machines. Server OS is CentOS 5.3 For centralize authentication i am using Fedora directory Services I also have FreeNX server installed on the Linux Server and FreeNX client on the windows machines. (for terminal server like functionality) https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FreeNX while goggling i got the the below article for creating multiple profile in linux http://www.linux.com/archive/feature/114319 Now the situation is that my FreeNX client is not able to authenticate via my Ldap/FDS Server. Could someone suggest some better idea for achieving this. I want approx same functionality as windows terminal server gives. Best Regards H

Resignation From: James Pluck <james(a)courage.co.nz> To: Waikato Linux Users Group <wlug(a)list.waikato.ac.nz> Date: Thursday 09:23:02 Dear WLUG Members, In the last month to 6 weeks my wife and I have been asked by CYFS to undertake the care of two more foster children in permanent placements. Because of the changes this new circumstance has made to our lives and to our schedules I find that I can no longer guarantee to attend all WLUG and WLUG-committee meetings. As President this is not acceptable to me. As I am also the Librarian this means that the library is unavailable to members. This I also cannot condone in myself. So out of respect for the WLUG I tender my resignation from the position of president and from the Committee and Librarian position effective immediately. I do not do this happily as I would much prefer to finish the year completing what I promised to do, but this is in the best interests of the WLUG. I will remain a financial member of the WLUG as I still believe in FOSS and still enjoy the many friendships I have made. In the interim, Bruce will step up from VP to President and Liz Quilty will move into the role of VP. John Billings has offered to take over the library. I wish Bruce, Liz, John and the rest of the committee the very best and will remain available to assist where I can with events. The remaining members of the committee will appoint an interim seventh committee member shortly. Thank you for your trust in me and I apologise for being unable to see it through. Greetings, I've created a web safe version of my presentation this evening (scrubbed phone numbers and contact details) and corrected a few spelling errors. I've also included a few links at the end of the presentation in response to some of the questions I fielded at the end of the evening. http://www.wlug.org.nz/~cmoman/voip_presentation/VOIP_presentation_20090622… For those of you considering the VOIP route as a replacement for your phone line, consider taking things one step at a time. Ie get your VOIP up and working before going the Naked DSL route. Make sure you are comfortable with the level of reliability of your VOIP service: No power, no phone. router offline, no phone. Special services such as alarm monitoring or St John ambulance etc aren't suitable for VOIP. A good starting point is using 2talks free service. It doesn't cost anything to set up an account and gives you a few free minutes a month such that you configure and test your hardware/softphone. It's always free to make calls to other 2talk users. The Waikato Linux Users Group have a meeting in one week from today: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This meeting is being rescheduled for July due to some scheduling conflicts. VikOlliver Vik will be presenting the RepRap 3D printer. This is a machine which can produce 3D objects that you define in software, much like printing to any ordinary 2D printer. The goal of the project is to create a low cost 3D printer which has the capability to replicate new and improved versions of itself.
