As Firefox 8 has not yet been released into the Ubuntu repositories (apparently due to it breaking something in the upcoming Ubuntu 12.04), I downloaded it from Mozilla's website. However, I have no idea how to get plugins to work with it, e.g. Flash and Java. I thought that I could just put the appropriate .so files into ~/.mozilla/plugins but that apparently doesn't work any more. Mozilla's page on installing plugins is quite outdated, so that's no good either. Has anyone here had any experience with running a non-repo version of Firefox with plugins? Or is there a PPA that has Firefox 8 (the Mozilla one has only the last beta of 8)? Sandy
