Hi All, Have tried to install Ubuntu 8.10 desktop 386 with a number of different c/d's First a rc then two final desktops including trying the live versions also an alternate install. They all have a common problem, booting to the welcome/login then crashing to a black or plain light brown blank screen The install appears to slow down as it progresses, this is particularly true of the alternate, the last few files take a long time to config/install. I thought that it may be a memory problem and increased the ram to 700+ however that made no difference at all. Someone suggested that my psu may be faulty but I have installed puppy linux in two or three times without a problem. Knoppix live works just fine Any help would be appreciated.
