Hi everyone We've upgraded the version of elgg, powering the social networking part of wlug's website, from 1.7 to 1.8 over the last few weeks. Since the old version was hammered by spammers, we decided to take a clean slate approach and migrate only "actual" content manually. The new version has a number of anti-spam measurements in place. So hopefully we don't seem the same problem again. The upgrade means that you'll have to create a new user account, unfortunately.
