We need the right person to join our small programming team based at our premises in Hamilton. Marathon-Photos.com photographs marathons and endurance events around the world, with the images displayed on the internet for viewing and ordering. Launched in Hamilton in 1999, the business has grown exponentially in the past 18 months. This year we will photograph more than 1 million people in more than 300 events in 30 countries.We also offer a video service to many events. From these, runners are able to either download personal video footage or order a fully interactive DVD. We need a person to help us maintain and develop the website for serving our millions of photos and video clips; someone to work closely with our software developers and graphics designers. Our servers run on a Linux platform. Essential Skills: * C or C++ * scripting in either Perl or python * knowledge and understanding of HTML/XML/HTTP standards and relevant web technologies. Desirable skills: * mysql or postgresql * Linux system administration or experience The expected salary range is around $44k - $55k per annum, negotiable based on your level of experience and qualifications. While the position is based in our relaxed environment, it also allows the opportunity for you to work from home at times.
