NZ Computer Society National Series: Hacked: Teaching the Good Guys Bad Tricks

NZ Computer Society National Series: Hacked: Teaching the Good Guys Bad Tricks 19 August 2010: 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm Events Room 2, Gallagher Hub Wintec City Campus, Gate 5 Tristram Street, Hamilton Continuing a security theme, in the latest National Series event NZCS is proud to bring one of the country's experts in application and web security to Hamilton. NB: Due to the NZCS 50th Anniversary Conference ( http://www.innovation.org.nz) there will be no National Series event next month. Hacked: Teaching the Good Guys Bad Tricks You can't fight a war that you don't know you're waging. You can't defend your website against attack unless you know the tricks that the bad guys will use. Join Andy Prow, Managing Director of Aura Software Security, as he demonstrates and discusses attacks and defences in action. By the end of this session you'll have an understanding of some of the common attacks such as Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Domain Request Forgery (CDRF), and will have an appreciation of how layering your defences (defence-in-depth) can help protect you from exploit chaining. The session will also give you some practical tips that you can apply straight away to help you design, build and manage more secure websites. Note: Light lunch provided. Free for NZCS members, inexpensive for others. Registration required at the following URL: http://www.nzcs.org.nz/events/waikato_bop/204-Hacked Regards, David Hallett, BSc, MNZCS ITCP P.O.
