A new major release of Blender, the 3D modelling/animation/sculpting/rendering software, finally hit stable earlier today. The version numbering is now taking bigger jumps. This is a far cry from the old days, when, for example, major new features would come out with only small version number changes (e.g. the Cycles ray-traced renderer appearing in 2.61, geometry nodes in 2.92 etc). My only worry is that the file format only has a single digit for the major version number. What happens after 9.99? Get it from <https://www.blender.org/>. Release notes are at <https://wiki.blender.org/wiki/Reference/Release_Notes/3.0>.
