Thek the 'carrier timeout' In windows it's about 60 seconds (might even have been 90), wvdial defaults to much less (45 seconds) and you probably need to make it longer. -- Disclaimer: Any disclaimer attached to this message may be ignored.

This appears to be the problem. I'm puzzled though, wvdial is supposed to be smart about this and drop through to a PPP session automatically. Perhaps the timeout actually wants to be _less_ :) -- Disclaimer: Any disclaimer attached to this message may be ignored.
