Firefox - turning off processes per tab

Hi everyone In case you don't like Firefox's new feature of separating tabs into separate processes (far more resource hungry), change the following setting in "about:config" to "false": browser.tabs.remote.auto Cheers, Peter -- Peter Reutemann Dept. of Computer Science University of Waikato, NZ +64 (7) 858-5174 http://www.cms.waikato.ac.nz/~fracpete/ http://www.data-mining.co.nz/

Should be browser.tabs.remote.autostart and possibly also browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 Hmm, in my settings it’s showing that the value of “true” for the latter is “modified”, not “default”.

Ah, thanks for the auto-correct. Not sure what went wrong with copy/paste...

The latter was "modified" on my Firefox as well (when multi-process was turned on). Cheers, Peter -- Peter Reutemann Dept. of Computer Science University of Waikato, NZ +64 (7) 858-5174 http://www.cms.waikato.ac.nz/~fracpete/ http://www.data-mining.co.nz/

This support article <https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1202828> says, in a reply dated 31st January, that “browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 is no longer used” in Firefox 58+.
