Hi I remember some postings some months ago about not being able to log on to the ASB unless using Internet explorer. I heard today that Firefox 1.5 was able to log in. I tried it and it does. (under windows at least) I will try under Linux tomorrow. Yeh one less reason for using windows!! Another thing I haven't seen posted is an article I found in the Post DB Open Source Project, Run by an editor of the Bangkok Post, found here http://postdb.ricshreves.net/archives/ An interesting link to the NBR where The New Zealand State Service Commission is promoting use of the Open Source Content Management System Plone for other agencies. The story can be found here http://www.nbr.co.nz/home/column_article.asp?id=13734&cid=3&cname=Technology Maybe the politicians are listening? Regards David Bowen

I had this same problem not being able to log on to ASB in Firefox (1.0x). The solution was to delete all cookies set by *.asbbank.co.nz I would only have to do this sometimes to be able to log on. Joseph. On 12/11/05, David Bowen <lilypatc(a)ihug.co.nz> wrote:

Wierd ... I've been using Linux + Firefox/Galeon/Konqueror/Epiphany to login to ASB Banks internet banking site for the past ... ummm ... few years at least? I've never had a problem (I think I had a problem once trying to get a browser working in BeOS and an early version of Galeon ... neither browser knew 'https'...) I've also been using BNZ bank for sometime now, no problems in Linux. I use Linux as my daily desktop - I have a windows machine for doing windows work + quickbooks ... (There's a thread on NZLUG from Nov 2004 that talked about Internet banking + Linux ... http://www.linux.net.nz/lists/NZLUG/2004/11/0153.html) HTH, Cheers, Warren. Joseph Gibbs wrote:

The only problem I've had with ASB Fastnet was a couple of weeks ago with, I think, Firefox 1.5 RC3. The login page would treat my login attempt as if I had entered an invalid password. However, a few days later it was working without problems, so I presume that there was just an issue with Firefox 1.5 which they resolved, or otherwise something went wonky with my cookies as per Joseph's comment before. Generally speaking I really can't complain about ASB in any way, except for that they run Windows in their branches ;) Their support for alternative browsers is awsome, and their Fastnet site is excellent.
