Regulators Flocking To Block Nvidia’s ARM Acquisition

The US FTC has joined in <https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2021/12/ftc-sues-nvidia-to-preserve-arms-status-as-switzerland-of-semiconductors/> the growing list of Government regulators from various countries looking askance at Nvidia’s plans to buy ARM. I like their description of ARM as being the “Switzerland” of semiconductors. Also found this interesting fact mentioned: Last year, companies sold 25 billion ARM chips, an increase of more than four-fold since 2010. That’s nearly four chips for every person on the planet. Per year.

I wonder whether it could be even more than all Intel CPUs sold in Intel's entire lifetime? Cheers Michael.
