The simple answer is Gavin, you know nothing about computers and you are stuck in front of the computer and told to view a web page, does the desktop lend itself to making it shit easy to launch a browser?

Is the desktop intuitive? if it needs to much thought to figure it out, its not a good desktop.

Will it adapt? and is it simple to adapt?

Will it support non visual forms of I/O?

If it needs a super computer to execute then it is not a good desktop, so is it scale-able?
