I do not think those errors have anything to do with my current situation there are about 30 of those error messages and I only tailed 6 ---- Original Message Follows -----
I ventured into the install and got to here:

Sorry about the tardy response I got dragged away. The Wireless device is a broadcom b-g The howto is here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WifiDocs/Acer5021WLMi_Amd64?action=show&redirect=WiFi
I searched synaptic and found all the gcc/cpp already to install. although it does not state amd 64 the install media was an amd 64 installer. I will go ahead and try to install the packages I have found

Hi All I am trying to follow a howto but have so far not been able to find
gcc-4.4-base_3.4.4-6ubuntu8_amd64.deb I googled it and returned a negative result. maybe it is a typo???
What wireless card are you trying to run?
Where is your howto?
I would say that you are better off using apt or aptitude rather than an exact version of package but not sure without seeing your how to.

I ventured into the install and got to here:
root(a)itchy:~# ndiswrapper -l Installed ndis drivers: bcmwl5 driver present, hardware present root(a)itchy:~# modprobe ndiswrapper -- Try configuring your network now under somewhere like desktop, administration, networking.
If you want to use WPA you will also need to install wpa_supplicant. Otherwise hopefully it will work! There is another way (download 2.6.17 test version) to do it if ndiswrapper doesn't work but try that first.
