Yesterday afternoon saw the official release of Elementary OS - Luna. It is a lightweight distribution based on Ubuntu 12.04 using an adaptation of the Gnome 3 desktop environment that has been called "Pantheon". I have been using it since its release and have found it to be minimal, elegant and fast.
