I presume the Linux key maps to the same keycode as the Windows key.... and they must have changed something to get that key to open the main menu - I know on my Debian that pushing it does nothing.... do other distros use it? On 2/24/06, Craig Box <Craig(a)itpartners.co.nz> wrote:

There's some info at http://www.princessleia.com/Windowsbind.php (What a great domain). By default, I can bind the key using GNOME's key applet, but I can't use it as a modifier (I have bound it to bringing up a home window, to do the same sort of thing that Windows-E does in Windows.) Craig

Considering that the Windows key/start menu binding is hugely annoying and a waste of a good modifier key, i certainly hope not. Also the "right mouse button" key on the keyboard is a worse idea.

When they started making functionality that was only exposed by the right mouse button, I found it to be very invaluable. Of course, the correct answer is "don't have functionality only exposed by the right mouse button" :)
