Does anyone know of a email server, preferably free, that can be used in a training environment? Current requirements are POP3 and SMTP access. All email is to be confined to a single domain (the classroom - not registered) and access to the (external) Internet should be blocked. It appears there could be a fair amount of work in setting up "standard"software for this limited task, but I would prefer something that most people would find simple to install to maintain. If the underlying platform is M$ Windows, then you could have a look at "hMailServer", an open-source, GPL-licensed eMail server: http://www.hmailserver.com/ Supports IMAP/POP3 and SMTP, uses MySQL/MS SQL as backend. Thanks for that Peter ... I'll have a look. That was a very rapid response! For a moment I thought you had a time machine, but discovered the clock on your computer is just a tad slow .. not by much, but enough for it to appear that the reply arrived 2 minutes before my original email. Thanks once again. Michael
