From The “How Not To Design A Website” Department

Found a link to some past news items on this site reporting on Munich city’s back-and-forth migrations between Linux and Windows. The last linked item was this <https://www.ip-watch.org/2018/06/12/former-munich-mayor-warns-negative-effects-citys-re-migration-microsoft/>. Bad enough that that light, thin text is almost unreadable against a similarly-coloured background, I decided to search the site for “munich” to see if I could find a more recent item, and got this: <https://www.ip-watch.org/?s=munich>. In case they fix it later, the top part has this message: Deprecated: strlen(): Passing null to parameter #1 ($string) of type string is deprecated in /home/clients/5bc716f64eaa5eb2ef6cc74a6b9b690a/web/weblog/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/lib/utils.php on line 445 and at the bottom it says “Not found, error 404” and that the page I am looking for (search results??) no longer exists. Who knew? Mind you, PHP is the only language where features can be marked “no longer deprecated” in later releases, so who knows, perhaps they will later decide to assign a meaning to finding the length of a string when the string isn’t actually a string ...
