Updated proprietary drivers

http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=551&num=1 https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&questionID=737-1176 This may be of interest to people. It shows the drivers changing and in some cases improving. It also shows the danger of non-free drivers as well. These drivers support old versions of X and not the latest (so I can't use easily on Debian Unstable). They don't yet support ailgx and of course you are limited to Intel/AMD platforms. The ATI driver drops support for old cards too... Now if Intel would mark their cards faster as they have supported the community by making open source drivers. -- Ian McDonald Web: http://wand.net.nz/~iam4 Blog: http://imcdnzl.blogspot.com WAND Network Research Group Department of Computer Science University of Waikato New Zealand
