Hi everyone. Hopefully someone can help. Installing knoppmyth, and having no end of trouble with the soundcard. Its an onboard VIA VT8235 chipset. On a PCChips M925 motherboard. Alsa auto confs the cards being an ens1731, which doesnt work. Altering the alsa-base file to set it to snd-via82xx with options up the wazoo. Everything seems to be set right Modprobing insmods correctly, and theres no errors, all dependensies load correctly. all procs are running. Try and run either aumix or alsamix and nothing works. Alsa-autoconifg wont detect a device as being there. /proc/asound contains a file called cards which says no soundcards, the only device that seems to detect is the timer. If you need anymore info let me know, im new to this linux thing.
