Was eager to trial this, so downloaded the newly released Beta this morning. I tried it on my desktop computer and was surprised to find it much closer to 10.10 than I had expected. It was still running Gnome. More checks and trials - Unity was there - just couldn't seem to get it running. Took it my laptop, and voila - Unity! (Could even change to Gnome). After a few trials, I think I could get used to Unity! The conclusion? It would appear that Unity requires a reasonably-specced graphics card. Previous experience, both directly and indirectly, leads me to suspect that my desktop's graphics card is not the best ... it has problems coping with Stellarium. Anyone got any comments or observations to add? Michael
