I posted my slides and the panorama image I created from the pictures I took at the meeting last week: http://wlug.org.nz/JohnBillings The Hugin interface is pretty easy to use. I added the two pictures and it assembled them and ouput a .tif image. I opened that up in GIMP and cropped it a bit, there were some gray areas that hugin left around the sides. Then used GIMP to convert it to a .jpg image. If you want to see the full size image it's at: http://nimhq.net/wlug-hugin-example.jpg You can see the seam where the two images were joined by the exit sign, but I thought it did a pretty good job. Think it is really best for scenery shots of course, so I dug through some old photos, and found a couple shots out at Maunganui I could join: http://nimhq.net/maunganui-1.jpg http://nimhq.net/maunganui-2.jpg Resulting in: http://nimhq.net/maunganui-hugin.jpg Thought I'd share my experiment. Best, John
