Does anyone have: b) a MIDI keyboard (& a PC that'll talk to it)
anyone got a gameport-equipped Linux PC? there's plenty of ways of generating sound from a PC given MIDI input, so no worries on that score; plug a MIDI kbd in, plug some speakers in, and start up MuseScore or whatever.
I have a linux box equipped with a DSP2000 (http://www.audiencedp.com/DSP2000.htm) audio/MIDI interface. It would be good for a demonstration of multi-track recording with Ardour and midi with Rosegarden, along with jack for audio routing and transport control, etc. I also have a MIDI keyboard that I use with it. I can bring it along on Saturday if you're keen. Cheers, Matt

okthxyesplsw00tSUBSCRBEINALLCAPS! that would be Bloody Fantastic, and a huge Thank You Muchly to Matt in advance. (however, it's got me wondering if I should bring my *stack*, so instead I'm gonna go play with my alphaserver and ensure there's no space in the car for anything more than a guitar and effects.) butting
