gnome/mate panel with two monitors

Another way I have found to move panels between monitors is to disable the monitor on which the panel is displayed, thus forcing the panel to be displayed on the other (primary) monitor. After this you can re-enable the secondary monitor and the panel stays on the primary. I'm not sure if this is common knowledge or not but thought I should share. Regards, Mark

That's what I tried initially. Didn't work for me: the panel was always going back to the original "primary" display (my laptop display). After I "manually" moved the panel onto the other display (my attached LCD monitor), it now gets always displayed on this display as soon as this display is being activated.
