Adobe's Photoshop Ditched for Krita at French University Due to Lack of Support

"The ATI (Art and Technology of Image) department at University Paris 8 is switching to Krita this year. This department has the double aim to train students both to use graphic software (2D,3D,VFX and Compositing) and to code their own (Python, C#, C++). Until recently the classes used only Adobe Photoshop, but because of inadequate support from the company the department decided to replace that." -- source: https://krita.org/item/goodbye-photoshop-and-hello-krita-at-university-paris... It comes as something of a (pleasant) shock to learn that one of these art schools wants to teach the students to “code their own”. I thought most of them concentrated on training up passive users. No wonder Adobe can’t handle that... By the way, as soon as I saw the mention of “2D,3D,VFX and Compositing”, I thought “Blender”. And sure enough, they use that as well. And also this interesting bit of compositing software called “Natron” <https://natron.inria.fr/>. See this demo <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3Snfwy1tVc> of Blender and Natron in action together.
