Note: this seminar is not limited to computer science people, we're just hosting it. If you know people who might be interested, let them know about it!] Abstract: Chris will be talking about interesting stuff he's doing at Google and is open for discussion. About Chris DiBona: Chris DiBona is the Open Source Programs Manager for Mountain View, CA based Google, Inc. His job includes running the Summer of Code and releasing open source software on Google's Code website, which can be found at http://code.google.com. Before joining Google, Mr. DiBona was an editor/author for the popular online website Slashdot.org and He is an internationally known advocate of open source software and related methodologies. He co-edited the award winning essay compilations "Open Sources" and "Open Sources 2.0" and writes for a great number of publications. He was briefly the Linux guy on TechTV and speaks on a variety of open source issues internationally. Additional information from John Houlker about Chris: Chris is also involved in issues regarding moving extremely large databases around on disk, some areas in geo-spatial information, and has been involved in a games start-up.
