[Fwd: Re: [Fwd: Re: Fwd: FYI: Richard Stallman interview tomorrow at 8.12am]]

Bruce, I forwarded your question to Simon Bridge. See his answers below. I see that all the audio files from the saturday program http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/saturday are in Ogg Vorbis format... but does that mean that all the files are freely distributable or just the RMS interview? /Roger Sinel -------- Forwarded Message -------- From: simon <simonbridge(a)ihug.co.nz> To: roger.sinel(a)nordickiwi.com Subject: Re: [Fwd: Re: [wlug] Fwd: FYI: Richard Stallman interview tomorrow at 8.12am] Date: Sat, 09 Aug 2008 18:26:54 +1200 Roger Sinel wrote:
Hi Simon, a few of us from WLUG are wondering if Radio NZ meant that the interview Ogg Vorbis files will be freely distributable?
I just thought you might be in the know about this.

Hi there,
FYI: Richard Stallman is being interviewed by Kim Hill tomorrow morning on Radio NZ at 8.12am.
Saturday Morning with Kim Hill Saturday, 8am - Midday
Just finished listening to this (via a propriatory MS streaming format ;)
Not a bad interview, and at the end they mentioned it will also be available as an Ogg Vorbis file. They didn't mention if it would be freely re distributable though, which I think would be just as important as the format it's released in.
Simon Bridge wrote: Yes - rms was clear about this. The website should be specifying a cc licence
