If you want to use WPA you will also need to install wpa_supplicant. Otherwise hopefully it will work!
There is another way (download 2.6.17 test version) to do it if ndiswrapper doesn't work but try that first.

OK. Maybe it's time to try an alternative approach! Support for these cards will be in Linux 2.6.17 in a much better format. Until now wireless in Linux has been a real mess. There seems to be an effort to really tidy it up now though. What you can do is download the latest test version from http://kernel.org. It will be 2.6.17-rcx-gity where x and y are some number (currently 1 and 12 at time of writing). Build this kernel and install. You will need to read this file for additional instructions: Documentation/networking/bcm43xx.txt If you're not sure how to build a kernel and install please say so and I will find instructions. Just can't find a good one right now! I've made a bunch of video clips using my Canon A75 camera.. they seem to be mjpeg format with 8-bit 11khz ulaw audio. Does anybody know of any program in Linux that would let me edit these or convert them to a more standard format. kino can't import them. transcode fails after this: [transcode] warning : /usr/lib/transcode/import_ffmpeg.so: undefined symbol: dts_init mencoder will turn the video into divx, but can't convert 8 bit ulaw to mp3 or aac.

I just started looking at diva to package up for Fedora Extras, www.diva-project.org It's a mono/gstreamer video editing app.. might be useful ? Michael

I'll see if I can figure it out..
Would you consider packaging it for Ubuntu as well?
I wouldn't know the first about packaging .debs nor do I have a debian/ubuntu system :-/ A dude I work with is a debian dev, I will ask him to have a look and see if it will take much. Michael

Dont know if it can handle it, and its not exactly linux. But Linux friendly But it will give you something to try http://www.eyespot.com/ Maybe Ajax can help, I have no idea what video/audio they can handle, Its just something else I saw on my net travels one wet day But if it accepts the video and audio, maybe you can save the output in a form that kino can handle. Otherwise I'd be happy to convert these on the macs for you. I'm sure one of our converters can help Also Just occurred to me did you try VLC videolan client, If it can play it, it would be able to convert it too

Use open file to open them. at the bottom on the MRL window there is a stream option. Tick it and press settings choose file output, then set encapsulation and video and audio settings and transcode away You might have to play with some options until you get a setting stream it can handle, but it converts just about everything eventually Sorry if the Linux layout is slightly different, I used the mac version to write this note, BUt it should be pretty damn close In short you stream the output to a file and all going well you will have a more standard stream On 18/04/2006, at 12:21 PM, zcat wrote:

vlc plays them (so does mplayer) but how do I convert them?
