Hi people, okay I had a big crash and lost loads of data in windows plus system got trashed so decided to give ubuntu dapper a go on my laptop. no worries after much hacking away got everything working how I want it. now however there is a problem. I have a dlink dsl-302g modem. now whenever I run the laptop after a few minutes the router disconnects then reconnects and this happens again and again whenever the laptop is on. it doesn't happen with my windows machines and if I turn the laptop off the connection is constant for 24+ hours. I emailed the slingshot help desk and they say it's a line fault and it's going to cost $88 to have it looked at. but it only happens when the laptop is on the network. any ideas about whats happening here? I'm very happy with ubuntu, just frustrated with the disconnects. I have tried a second dsl-302g so it's not the router and the internal network works flawlessly just the internet connection is screwy. Cheers Haldor
