If you want to do it in the command line, you can use 'ftp' or 'ncftp'. If you want to do it in a GUI environment, 'gftp' or 'filezilla' are what I would recommend. I use gftp myself. Obviously, you'll need to know the ftp server, user name and password. If you don't know these, contact your hosting company. -- simon
hey simon, i have downloaded FTPzilla using synaptic. I know the host, username and password. I have been able to transfer two images and two files (index.html and glenn.css) to the remote server. where I am struggling is although I have transferred them, there is no trace of them when I http://gmorrissey.kol.co.nz. All I get is a folder called CGI-bin and nothing else. glenn.

Similary check the permission of the files you have saved on the server. Make sure all users have read access. 2009/2/5 Simon Green <simon(a)simongreen.name>:
