Hi, I regularly get the message, "hda: lost interrupt" (that's my cd drive). Additionally, it takes a long time to mount, and to access each directory/file. I'm using kernel 2.4 on RedHat 9. Any advice. ===== -- JaredWigmore -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.12 GCM/CS/S d? s+++:-- a? C++++ UL++ P--- L++ E>+++ W++ N>+ o? K- w--- O? M-- V-- PS-- Y-- PGP- t+++ 5? Check to see that DMA is enabled: /sbin/hdparm -d /dev/hda /dev/hda: using_dma = 0 (off) If dma is off (as above) you can enable it with /sbin/hdparm -d 1 /dev/hda I don't know where redhat stores this setting however, so I can't advise on the best way to have this set automatically for you. /etc/sysconfig/hardisks Script file. Edit it. Included into startup scripts. Regards -- Oliver Jones » Director » oliver(a)deeperdesign.com » +64 (21) 41 2238 Deeper Design Limited » +64 (7) 377 3328 » www.deeperdesign.com
