Thought I’d mention this handy website <https://policy.nz/2022> which happens to be relevant to the NZ situation right now, namely the upcoming local-body elections. It’s a compilation of relevant policy info that election candidates of all persuasions up and down the country were able and willing to supply. Go look up the elections in your own area, and see what your candidates are standing for, so you can make a more informed choice. (Or more rationalizations for the choice you’ve already made. But hey, I won’t judge...) Participation in local-body elections in NZ is typically pretty poor, even with mail-in voting. Yes, there are some gaps in their coverage, but still, maybe this will help raise the numbers who vote. Go, be informed!

Very useful. Thanks, Lawrence. Especially, since multiple groups are actively trying to undermine democracy: https://interactives.stuff.co.nz/2022/08/circuit/fire-and-fury-disinformatio... This isn't just about democracy, it's about governance.
