Hi everyone We have a WLUG meeting on Monday. Unfortunately, there won't be a demonstration of the Raspberry Pi 3 and I'm not sure about the Pine 64 either. http://www.meetup.com/WaikatoLinuxUsersGroup/events/229051656/ Cheers, Peter -- Peter Reutemann Dept. of Computer Science University of Waikato, NZ +64 (7) 858-5174 http://www.cms.waikato.ac.nz/~fracpete/ http://www.data-mining.co.nz/

No the Pine64 hasn't arrived yet. And I am doubled book for the evening so will be elsewhere... Cheers Michael.

Hi everybody If nothing else is planned for tonight we could discuss the Government's TTPA IP Consultation document: TPP Intellectual Property implementation http://www.mbie.govt.nz/info-services/business/intellectual-property/tpp-int... Submissions close 5pm Wednesday. http://www.mbie.govt.nz/info-services/business/intellectual-property/tpp-int... The provisions are about as bad as they could be and the Electronic Frontier Foundation has just uncovered a sneaky change by the negotiation team that makes it even worse: *The Final Leaked TPP Text Is All That We Feared* https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2015/10/final-leaked-tpp-text-all-we-feared Sneaky Change to the TPP Drastically Extends Criminal Penalties https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2016/02/sneaky-change-tpp-drastically-extends-... So, did anything interesting happen? Sorry I couldn’t attend. I’m on antibiotics and painkillers for a bad toothache, until I can get to a dentist tomorrow morning. Lawrence

Hi Lawrence, I gave a presentation on Single Board Computers. I focused on the future C.H.I.P. and the Raspberry Pi series of SBC's. I'll ask Peter to post my slide presentation on wlug github site. Over the cup-of-tea at the end, we played around with a Raspberry Pi connected to the O/H projector. Which led to dabbling with the Sonic Pi application, where you write a program to play music. After much chatting we finally locked up the place at about 10:30pm. Sorry to hear about the tooth and all the best with getting it sorted. cheers, Ian.
