Collecting it in one place and taking one trip to the drop-off locations on Saturday 6 November saves time and reduces vehicle emissions. It’s also a great way to meet your community and make sure everyone can take part in eDay. [image: Arrow pointing upwards] Back to top <#12b7fa0e9da59aaf_pagetop> *Thanks to our national partners* [image: Thanks to our national partners] In addition to funding from the Waste Minimisation Fund, national partners and supporters from previous years have confirmed their support, including KiwiRail, MORE FM, the Blue Star Group, Trade Me and industry partners, The Laptop Company and Invo. A big thanks to all our partners for helping us raise awareness of the importance of recycling computer equipment. [image: Arrow pointing upwards] Back to top <#12b7fa0e9da59aaf_pagetop> *Volunteers needed* [image: Volunteers needed] eDay relies on the help of thousands of hard-working volunteers across the country to make the event a success. We are looking for volunteers to assist at each eDay drop-off site. Volunteers are needed to help direct traffic, interview drivers about their awareness of e-waste issues and unload computer equipment from cars. You can help by volunteering yourself and / or encouraging your friends, family and co-workers to get involved! Simply complete the form here.<http://campaigns.campaignsuite.co.nz/t/r/l/fjhyhd/hhhkdiitr/d> [image: Arrow pointing upwards] Back to top <#12b7fa0e9da59aaf_pagetop> *Did you know?* [image: Did you know?] According to www.e-takeback.org, 133,000 PCs are discarded in the United States every day! In New Zealand, we estimate that as many as 2000 PCs are being discarded every day. [image: Arrow pointing upwards] Back to top <#12b7fa0e9da59aaf_pagetop> *Who runs eDay?* [image: Who runs eDay?] eDay was created by Computer Access New Zealand (CANZ), an initiative of the 2020 Communications Trust, in 2007 in response to a growing concern about the volume of e-waste being dumped in landfills around the country with a potentially toxic effect on the environment. This year, funding for eDay has been secured by the 2020 Communications Trust. Local eDay events are run by community groups or local authorities. National coordination is provided by the eDay New Zealand (eNZ) Trust, a new independent community trust set up by CANZ members specifically to promote responsible recycling of electronic waste in New Zealand.
