Just wondering if anyone has a spare 17" CRT (working) or a few keyboards they'd like to give away? I'm short of a few. -- Disclaimer: By sending an email to any of my addresses you are agreeing that: 1. I am by definition, "the intended recipient" 2. Hi Bruce, We have stuff I would dearly love to get rid of. However domestic politics on these sorts of issues are very tricky. I'll see what I can do. Hehe, I only need two. If I get too many Sue will yell at me again. 38 Pearsons Ave if you want to drop them off. If I'm not home put them around the back, there's a reasonably sheltered porch there. I don't suppose anyone has any "old" LCD screens they want to give away? ;) -- Disclaimer: By sending an email to any of my addresses you are agreeing that: 1. If by "old" you mean "doesn't power on anymore", then yes, i do have one. ;)
Not really what I was after but hey, I just got send the EDay press release; http://2020wordpress.wainet.org/?page_id=159 I'll be helping out at EDay again this year, and suggest everyone in WLUG who can spare the time also gets involved. It's pretty hard work, but also quite a lot of fun seeing all the different old computers, looking out for rare machines and stuff. They give you a nice lunch too. -- Disclaimer: By sending an email to any of my addresses you are agreeing that: 1. I am by definition, "the intended recipient" 2. Yeah, this year we will also be able to distribute the OpenDisc to every person who drops off equipment, or more likely until we run out of discs to give away. Along with a flyer for SoftwareFreedom day which happens to be the week after. If your thinking about volunteering you can sign up on their site or just let Bruce or I know, we are in touch with the organizers. A lot of the work is helping people unload, and stacking and moving around pallets, but also need people to direct traffic, if you didn't want to do any lifting. You can come for an hour or two, or the whole day. Best, John Bruce Kingsbury wrote:

Hi WLUG, If there is enough support I could give a talk on what Datamatrix is trying to achieve with Open Systems. While at present we can't even get a modem going,. in the long term we have our sights set on resolving an important issue in fundamental science and philosophy, (free will vrs determinism). Anybody interested? Hi Robert, Sounds interesting! In events room 1 during SFD, we will be having a barcamp style slate of sessions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barcamp There will be a place to sign up on the wiki closer to the event, and sign up sheet the day of the event. If there are a lot of people who want to do a presentation we might have a lighting round session, so everyone gets a chance to speak. But I imagine there will be plenty of 15 - 30 minute slots available. Best, John Robert D Davidson wrote:
