Hi all. A week or more ago I posted about my interest in purchasing a Plantronics USB headset and whether it might work under Linux. Thank you to those who responded to that post. On Friday, after receiving my copy of World of Warcraft, I decided I needed to replace the dodgy analogue Plantronics headset I have with a USB one. It seems the only computer store near my place in Melbourne's CBD that stocked headsets was Harvey Norman and they only stocked Logitech devices. I bought a Logitech® Premium USB Headset 350 <http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/AU/EN,CRID=103,CONTENTID=10013> and hoped for the best. As expected it works well on Windows for WoW. :) Tonight I decided to test it with Linux and I'm happy to report that getting it to work with Fedora Core 4 was a simple case of plugging it in. Hot plug and udev did their jobs and I could instantly twiddle with the mixer settings in Gnome Mixer and Audacity grabbed audio from /dev/dsp2 without a hitch. I'm well pleased. Regards
