I'm not so much interested in pcs (and am happy to leave hard drives of anything interesting behind at that) however, if servers/networking/old stuff turns up, i am rather keen on the preservation of such hardware

I think there's some allowance for this.. It would be pretty tragic if someone dropped off a 'poly' or similar rare, historic machine and nobody saved it. Anyhow, volunteer information at http://zcat.geek.nz/files/volunteers%208.30%20packers.doc for anybody who plans to help out on the day. Hopefully the list allows attachments. Also I think I've got too much here to fit in my car, let me know if you have some free space and can pass by this way on Sunday morning.
