Re: [wlug] Problem with wireless, Can anybody help?

What does dmesg tell you? Has the kernel even loaded a module for the wireless card? You will probably need ndiswrapper and the *.inf *.sys files from the windows driver to make it work. I bought Sony VAIO laptop K-415B and installed there Mandriva LE 2005. Everything is ok, just cannot make connection via Wi-Fi. Seemes that there is problem with driver or something like that, cuz it doesnot recognize wifi. Does anybody have experience with sony vaio or how to solve this?
I don't have experience with Sony Vaio but do have experience with wireless. When you say you cannot make connection can you give a few more details: - what wireless network card does this machine have? (You may need to look at manual to find out easily) - are you trying to use no security, WEP or WPA? (i.e. what are you trying to connect to) - does it work in Windows if you still have that on the machine? - can you give any error messages?
