Red Hat has taken just 2 years to double its annual takings <http://phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Red-Hat-Two-Billion>. I remember a senior executive saying some years ago that for every dollar of revenue they get, they take $10 away from their proprietary rivals. So their overall effect on the market is massively deflationary.
