I have already told Mike that I am happy to supervise two mornings a week, but I don't have the technical skills to maintain and update the system. Mike is understandably ultra-sensitive about who he lets have access to the system. As I see it they need several things: Someone they can trust with technical skills to update the system that Bruce set up, and document it sufficiently for a sysadmin to easily maintain the system. Documentation for routine maintenance that Mike or his appointee can easily do. Documentation/manual for supervisers to use to provide appropriate user access/privacy etc on the public sessions. A sysadmin available/on call for troubleshooting, major updates/, changes to the system etc. Then Mike can choose volunteers to supervise the sessions and get things active again. It is frustrating to see such a valuable facility going to waste when it was providing a valuable service for those without other access. It will also be useful for workshops for Python, programming, FOSS/Linux help sessions etc for which the Uni may not be suitable. Rod On 15/06/15 15:36, Lawrence D'Oliveiro wrote:

I'm willing to open the lab twice a week from 9-12. With more people I would love to open it from 2:30 till 5pm for primary and intermediate. I am willing to help for another two mornings a week. A group of us should go see Mike?
