Speaking of Linux 6.14, here <https://www.tomshardware.com/software/linux/linux-kernel-source-expands-beyond-40-million-lines-it-has-doubled-in-size-in-a-decade> is a report that the total size of the source has reached 40 million lines, growing “at around four hundred thousand lines of code every two months”. Remember that a kernel build only includes the code that is relevant. I previously mentioned a quote from Greg Kroah-Hartman that the most complex Linux kernel build, for Android phones, uses only about 4 million lines of that code.
