Looking at a traceroute (this looks at how the traffic goes through) my method of getting there goes from Telecom ADSL to Telstra Clear to wlug.
I would guess Orcon might be having problems getting traffic through - I know Telstra Clear has been in dispute with some ISPs about peering (in affect sharing) internet traffic and this may be the problem.
You may wish to ring the Orcon helpdesk....
Is wlug.org.nz hosted at Waikato Uni? I have a feeling it might be looking at the traces.... Have a test of www.waikato.ac.nz and see if it breaks...
