the mozilla "psm" is needed for viewing encrypted websites, which I assume is why you got that first message.

To confirm, in the terminal window I typed: 'rpm -q psm' "package psm is not installed"

Any help would be appreciated to get it installed.

The package is called "mozilla-psm", not simply "psm". If you can now go to https:// websites (that use SSL encryption) then it is all installed properly.... John
