I want to put up a page for a start with some venue information on it, and a page for the next presentation where people can add ideas, RSVP, etc.

We already organised such a thing in the past, see http://wiki.linux.net.nz/ That's actually the WLUG wiki (same instance, same pages, etc), just skinned and redirected to a different homepage when you visit it from wiki.linux.net.nz instead of www.wlug.org.nz It's been so long since we set that up that I've forgotten who we were dealing with...
