Hi. No it will not bring up Card Reader as a boot option. Although I did happen to have an external USB card reader I was using for other things - put my SD card into card reader, plugged in, rebooted, looked at boot menu, had Ǵeneric SD Card Reader'or similar as an option, so chose it, and booted... slowly. Took ~ 2 mins to get to desktop. kubuntu-11.04-desktop-amd64.iso was what i had on the card, used unetbootin to put it there (get iso first, install unetbootin on working pc, chnage to _ROOT_ user (unetbootin requires this), plugin usb/sd card, fire up unetbootin, and follow instructions. HTH, Elroy. Notes for HP Mini 110 Users installing Ubuntu/Kubuntu: After I updated the software (first time after install) using package management, I couldn´t boot, it stopped at loading HDD drivers, wireless light off. Tried usb puppy linux, booted ok, no wireless/bluetooth able to be loaded/wireless light always amber (white when on). Gave up, and must have not turned netbook off properly. Came back, saw that battery was dead flat, put charger on, fired up puppy, wireless lights came up ok, could scan for and see wireless networks, rebooted into hdd kubuntu, all back and running fine again. Lesson: Either remove battery for few minutes (have not tried this option) to reset wireless on/off if it packs up, or let it go completely flat and power off by itself+. D. wrote:
Hi, Elroy,
Can your new notebook boot from flash memory?
