To be honest, unless you have a pretty tight budget 17" is small for graphics work. I have a 19" at home and keep running out of room :p. Also, you may get just as good an item from lesser known brands. Just make sure to do your homework. I'm running a Hanns.G which is quite nice, although the built in speakers are a waste of time. AFAIK monitors should be plug and play. You might need to think about the sort of plug it has, DVI (which standard) or analogue. Ask some of the local manuafcturing shops nicely such as Millenium and PBTech what lines they use, they may have some suggestions to get you started. It goes without saying that in normally you get what you pay for... -- See my blog at http://snap-happy3216.blogspot.com
