When I run update-manager as root I get "(synaptic:7648): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_destroy: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done" It did however down load a small update for Mozilla. If I try to run it (or anything else) from the gui I am asked for a password by the widget. My root pass and my user pass does not work (even Gandhalf is no good) I think this last issue is unrelated, on boot I get "ror: temporary unable to resolve name" Any help on this would be welcome Regards John
